Robert Rollins (FranCo T)
I've always considered myself an oil painter and representational artist. Abstract art happened by accident for me and has intrigued me for some time. I have created work on glass that I view as experimental. I am always surprised to see the final image although I try diligently to control it. The image tells me what it needs and I follow.
My mother once told me she was going to name me Franco and this is why I sign these abstract pieces with that name; for what could have been. The T is in honor of my grandmother, Thelma. These works began in her basement. My real influences are Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Lucien Freud. I am however finding useful aspects in various abstract artists as well as graffiti artists. Only time will tell what will happen next, and where I will go from here. FranCo T has been a Lemon Street Gallery member since 2012. |
