I have enjoyed art for as long as I can remember. It is my passion in life, and when I am working on a piece it is as if time does not exist.
My Uncle Jim Frechette was my greatest inspiration. He was an incredible artist and worked with many different mediums, including a carving of a 10 foot Bear he created for our tribe of Menominee Nation. He always encouraged me to explore the world of different kinds of mediums, so it is in honor of him, I am doing so. Although I am a life long resident of Kenosha, my parents were born and raised on our reservation. My art is inspired by our Native regalia and Pow Wows. I love the beautiful colors and movement of the dancers. It is my hope to capture the meaning and reverence of my heritage in all my Native pieces. |
