I am a self-taught wire wrap artist…creating wearable art and sculpture. I started jewelry making about 6 years ago and more recently started my wire sculpture journey. The sculpture came out of a desire to do something more self-expressive. I really love creating with many different materials. Recently I have been working with clay but my material of choice seems to be wire. I don’t know why but making something out of nothing is utterly exciting. It’s a thrill getting the wire to yield to my vision. This doesn’t always work out though and sometimes I have to yield to the wire. Either way, I can end up with something that has never existed before and that’s amazing on its own. Something, I enjoy just as much as making art is when someone else loves my work. It is a kind of affirmation of being on a good path. Each piece I design has a part of me in it. They are all in some small way a representation of me.
