I was born in Southern California and now I reside in Wisconsin. I am an artist who experiments with many different types of mediums and styles but I have a recognizable style. I love to do abstract work because of the freedom of expression it allows me but I am not limited to painting abstracts. Abstract art allows me to express a feeling or an impression of an event. I prefer to work in oils because of the rich texture and deep vibrant colors of the paint. I also work in other mediums and styles. I am influenced by artists like Kandinsky or Picasso. The local artists of today give me inspiration too and have become a collector myself! I find that the human figure is an interesting subject and I can capture a likeness but it is not my favorite thing to do. I am very attracted to color, contrast, and light. I have spent my whole life working on my art. At first I tried to capture perfection and as time has gone on I have learned it is not perfection that I need to capture but the expression of my subject matter. As an Artist I have had the same aspiration since I was a child I want to leave my mark on the world and I want my children to have a legacy. I want them to be able to say when I am gone that I left something for them to be proud of. I have been working on this dream from the moment I could hold a brush. As I have grown older so has my determination to be an artist. As a teenager, I realized that I could not just create these pieces of “art” but I could make a statement and express my emotions. I used to use art to hide from the world, now I use art to tell my story to the world. I find inspiration by combining my emotions and my experiences. I will never tell you what to feel but I can show you with colorful communication. I was once told that good art makes you feel or have a reaction. I hope that I achieve that when you view my work. As an artist, I have a clear vision of who I am, and where I am going. I am an artist who is not afraid to take risks, experiment with new mediums, break all the rules, and to totally immerse myself into what I am doing. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement, connect with me, and experience my art. I hope it makes you feel!
