Laundry: It is a never ending cycle of wash, dry, wear. Food: Finish a meal and you need to create another one hours later. Work: You must go to your job day after day after day, and do what is expected of you, in a manner expected of you. In a world that is full of things we must do, painting is the one thing that I choose to do. I alone choose the colors and mediums. I choose the method of introducing paint to canvas, and I choose when it is complete. Whether the result is good or bad, it is mine. Painting gives me a freedom that I have nowhere else. There are no expectations and no demands with art. I can be subdued or crazy, and go where my mood takes me. I hope that the sense of freedom I experience when painting is conveyed through my work!
