I am an artist living in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. I became an artist after twenty plus years working in science and education. In 2011, I enrolled in the art program at U.W. Parkside and in 2013 earned my B.A. You can now find me hard at work at Mudhaus art studio, 6612 26th Avenue, Kenosha, WI. I am usually there Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm.
I create sculptures in clay and papier-mache clay. My sculptures are mainly animals: dogs, cats, horses, and so on. Some of my newer sculptures include people. My source material includes photographs, sketches, and plastic models, in addition to memories of the animals I have known over the years. My creations are hand sculpted and unique. I do not use molds. My knowledge of animals comes from having pets and farm animals and my studies in zoology and vertebrate anatomy. My sculptures reflect my love for animals. My sculptures may be fantasies, cartoon-like, or realistic. I am currently working on sculptures that show relationships between humans and animals. I am just in the early stages of my art career, and my artistic direction is growing and developing. Ann has been a Lemon Street Gallery member since 2015. |
