Nature is an endless fascination. It's many boundless forms are a constant source of inspiration for my art. I paint with encaustic (molten, pigmented beeswax) which offers the opportunity to not only create physical depth and texture in paintings, but also translucency and fluidity when interpreting atmospheres and seascapes. Some paintings are representational in subject while others are a blend of the literal and abstract.
My etchings are drawings carved into copper plates with an etching needle. The plates are then placed in acid baths for varying lengths of time, inked and then manually printed on an etching press. My etchings are predominately birds, animals and insects. I often present them in solitude to emphasize their individual character and beauty. |
