Melissa Kirkeby (aka The Twisted Lion)makes wire sculpted jewelry using precious gems and metals. I think my designs are heavily influenced by nature and contemporary Art deco. I got my start over twenty years ago after venturing into a a gem store in North Carolina while visiting my brother. A few years later I was fortunate enough to travel the country meeting many “rock hounds” and learning about the metaphysical properties of  the many gems and stones. I'm also an avid gardener simply, because I find myself constantly amazed and inspired by the beauty of Mother Earth. I use this inspiration, along with the knowledge I gained during my travels, as I strive to make each of my pieces individually unique and timeless.
