Throughout my 34 year career at a major manufacturing company, I used my design talents to produce graphic artwork in various forms.
Much of my life I have worked with fabric and attended the International Design Academy in Chicago where I studied the creation of flat patterns for apparel.
For over 40 years I developed my passion for creating and designing functional art with a contemporary flavor through work with stained glass. I have been successfully commissioned for work by private individuals to design and build functional stained glass panels for various areas of their homes or business. Following the love of glass, I took classes in bead making and fusing glass. I studied with William Zwiefel, Niche Award Winner and Jane Raissle, Award winner in Kilnformed Glass. The continual search for unique yet functional art led me to develop pendulum glass clocks along with other glass objects using both fused and stained glass methods. I often incorporate my lamp working skills in my designs. My glass designs have been published in a few instructional books which have been distributed throughout the United States and Canada.
My creations do not stop with glass. For over a decade, I studied and mastered the art of metal smithing. My work embodies clean, flowing, contemporary lines no matter what medium I’m using. The attraction to free flowing forms without rigid boundaries is understandable as I have flown my own aircraft for many years. Since my retirement from the Corporate World, I have been able to pursue my love of design thru my creations. When not in my studio creating, I take to the skies where I enjoy freedom from all earthly restrictions.
