A Lemon Street Gallery and Kenosha Public Library Collaboration
Do you knit or crochet? Have you heard of Yarn Bombing?

Take back the knit!
Let's show our community how to be warm, cozy and SILLY through yarn craft.  Join KPL and Lemon Street Gallery in The Big Yarn by guerrilla knitting or stealth crocheting all summer long to produce soft graffiti to be installed in Union Park, 46th Street and 7th Avenue, in the KUPP neighborhood on September 25.    You can participate in the silliness by knitting a sweater for a tree or crocheting a scarf for a park bench or how about soft monster feet for the sculpture?  This is called yarn bombing and it is pure fun!  Individuals and knitting/crocheting groups are invited to participate.  Everyone is encouraged to produce a laminated “tag” to attach to their yarn bomb.  Yarn bombs will remain in place until Second Saturday, October 9th.

Don’t know how to knit or crochet?  Free beginning knitting classes will be held at Southwest Library on Thursdays, June 17, July 15, and August 12, at 6:30pm, and free crochet classes will be held Wednesdays, June 16, July 14 and August 11, at Lemon Street at 1:00pm
